Walter Mitty or Billy Liar? You decide.
Billy Liar is a fantasist who wants to rid himself from the constant complaints and blames he gets from other people, Billy Liar is never wrong. Might it be that Mr Michael Stainer is a fantasist in the same vein as Billy Liar?
It is publicly available that Mr Michael Stainer (pictured) was made bankrupt in 1994 at Canterbury Combined Courts and the bankruptcy number was No 515.
In 1995 Mr Stainer sought an individual voluntary arrangement (IVA); which is a formal alternative for individuals wishing to avoid bankruptcy. No 0024834.
Both the above mentioned can be verified by contacting the Insolvency Service, who are based in Chatham, Kent.
Mr Stainer either sits in these companies as a Secretary or a Director, or has resigned his position

All these companies as of the 31/03/15 had a combined debt of over 2 million pounds. Would you, or anyone in their right mind wish to do business with any of these companies? Perhaps, but it would need to be cash on delivery. How is Mr Stainer and his wife surviving especially when one of the above companies – The Grand Folkestone Limited – has a debt/liability of £992,000 pounds alone. So nearly a million pounds worth of debt.
What we at the Shepwayvox team find astonishing; is that in a court case heard at Canterbury Combined Courts in the summer of 2015, Mr Stainer had the temerity to inform the Judge that his restaurant made a million pounds. On inspection of his books by the Judge, it was discovered it was closer to £600 pounds his restaurant made. We know this because one of our team was in the public gallery taking copious notes. The audacity of the man seems to know no boundaries in our opinion.
We are aware that Mr Stainer and his wife owe a considerable sum of money towards the maintenance fees of The Grand and that not even his day job at Eurotunnel; which Mr Stainer informs the Judge he has in this article Tribunal slams Michael Stainer errant accountant ,is sufficient to pay the bills. We checked with Eurotunnel, the confirmed there was nobody of that name on their books. That’s chutzpah on a sublime scale by Mr Stainer to mislead a Judge.
We are aware of other cases Mr Stainer has been involved in where he has given evidence which when scrutinised does not bear any resemblance to the reality of the situation.
With these simple facts before you, would it be reasonable to conclude that Mr Stainer is a fantasist similar to Walter Mitty or Billy Liar? We’ll leave you to decide that.
Well various suppliers. lorries can be seen outside The Grand for quite long periods
“Mr Stainer had the temerity to inform the Judge that his restaurant made a million pounds. On inspection of his books by the Judge, it was discovered it was closer to £600 pounds his restaurant made.”
Doesn’t strike me as his being a very good Chartered Accountant then – more like Certifiable………..
Well Veritas , there may be various lorries seen delivering to the Grand , but I can assure you they do not leave until they are paid for their delivery . FACT !
