Police to Talk to Shepway District Councillor.

Wilkins affectseveryoneEXCLUSIVE:

Cllr Roger Wilkins (pictured) was first elected to Shepway District Council in 2011 for the Dymchurch & St Mary’s Bay seat. He received 1,233 votes and 50.1% of the vote on a turnout of 43.8%. He has been a District Councillor for the last six years.

We understand on Friday November 10th 2017 at the Dymchurch & District Twinning Association Christmas Quiz, held at the Dymchurch Scout Hut, Cllr Wilkins  was involved in a fracas with a member of the public at the event. Cllr Wilkins was there in his capacity as Chairman of Dymchurch Parish Council and President of the twinning association. It is alleged that Cllr Wilkins was inebriated”  at the time.

A complaint has been lodged against Cllr Wilkins to Kent Police via their online reporting page, so we understand. We also understand that a complaint has been made to the monitoring officer of Shepway District Council – Amandeep Khroud (pictured below), with possibly another complaint to follow about his standard of behaviour; which locals say was wholly inappropriate.

Apparently the Police have said that they will be visiting Cllr Wilkins about the “fracas” and breaching public order. We understand the Police will be giving him a Community Resolution which he has to accept or not accept.

A Community Resolution is an alternative way of dealing with less serious crimes, allowing officers to use their professional judgement when dealing with offenders. It can be used for offences such as low level public order, criminal damage, theft, and minor assaults.

Community Resolution will enable victims to have quick resolutions and closure to their crime, offenders will receive speedy justice and there will be reduced bureaucracy for police officers.

If Cllr Wilkins fails to accept the order then a more extensive investigation will take place and witnesses interviewed.

Cllr Wilkins is currently vice chair of the Planning & Licensing Committee. Since April 2012 Cllr Wilkins has earned in expenses & allowances £24,729 in his capacity as a SDC Cllr.

  1. In my humble opinion the man is a waste of space. Why the people of Dymchurch ever elected him I fail to understand. And nearly twenty five grand expenses and allowances for What I ask!!!

    • A question that is being asked right now and will be answered in May 2019 (or maybe earlier)

  2. AS was said many years ago it must have been a very silly question if Wilkins was the answer.
