Oportunitas Ltd – all change

Cllr Claire Jeffrey (pictured below left) will be replaced as the senior director of Oportunitas Limited as of the 31st Oct 2018, according to an announcement by Folkestone & Hythe District Council, the sole shareholder in the company. The Cllr who will replace her as the senior director is Cllr Russell Tillson (pictured below right). As an aside Cllr Jeffrey defected to the Conservatives – she was elected as a Labour Candidate in May 2015 and in Oct 2016  defected and became a Conservative Cllr. 

 

This means Cllr Jeffrey will lose her annual payment £6,101.04 (gross) and this will be transferred to Cllr Tillson. The other 3 Cllrs who sit as directors of Oportunitas Ltd  earn £1,592.04 (gross)

Cllr Jeffrey has been the lead director since May 11 2017 and in her time as the senior director has overseen two acquisitions: 84 Sidney Street, Folkestone ( £385k, excluding Stamp Duty Land Tax) and 1 Claremont Road, Folkestone ( £350k, excluding Stamp Duty Land Tax).

Now Cllr Tillson has just registered with the Register of Fee Payers as a Data Controller on the 23rd Oct 2018, yet was elected on the 20 July 2017. Why has it taken him one year and four months to register?

And do remember people, Cllr Tillson was never investigated for his expenses for 2014/15 as he lost his seat in the May 2015 district election.

Finally we note the name of the Council has been changed on the Oportunitas website from Shepway District Council
