Cllrs Under Criminal Investigation By Kent Police for Leaking Commercially Sensitive Information

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION red Rubber Stamp over a white background.

Exclusive

A handful of Folkestone & Hythe District Cllrs are under criminal investigation by Kent Police; for leaking the commercially sensitive information about how much the the Council will pay for Cozumel Estates Land – owned by the Reuben Brothers – at Otterpool Park.

We understand the Council lodged a formal compliant with Kent Police on or shortly after the 11th Jan 2020. As we understand, the investigation is underway.

It was Cllr David Monk (not under investigation) who first revealed the Council’s intention to buy out Cozumel Estates – owned by the Reuben Brothers  – at full council on 20/11/2019. He did not though go into granular detail, as the Cllrs under investigation have.

It is not possible to say more at this stage. We stress all Cllrs under investigation are innocent until proven guilty.

You know what they say, no smoke without fire?
In my book that’s what’s known as insider trading, one thing for sure, they need now to be looking at who has made the money out of the situation, there is a method that never ever fails to bring the real picture to light, FOLLOW THE MONEY AND YOU’LL FIND THE FRAUDSTER!!!!!

One does wonder what training newly elected Councillors receive on how to perform their duties and also whether they receive periodic refresher training. Equally, some individuals no matter how much training they receive will never be able to do a particular job. Perhaps Dr Priest will be prepared to enlighten us on the training Councillors receive.

  4. Why was it criminal to leak information about ‘commercially sensitive information about how much the the Council will pay for Cozumel Estates Land owned by the Reuben Brothers’ – at Otterpool Park’ and why were Police informed about a data breach?

A Councillor has a legal duty of confidentiality as confirmed in the attached blog post by David Merson – a planning solicitor and guidance issued by Brighton Council to its own Councillors.
