Kent MPs Expenses 2019/20

All Kent MPs claimed £2,810,392 worth of expenses in 2019/20. Their expenses does not include their salary which in 2019/20 was £79,468.

Expenses cover such as office running costs, rent, travel, subsistence (food), staff expenses etc.

MPs expenses for 2019/20 were delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, today they have been released.

The MP who claimed the most in expenses in Kent for 2019/20 was Tom Tugendhat,  MP for Tonbridge and Malling he claimed £210,284.56. In second place was Sir Roger Gale, MP for North Thanet who claimed £198,005.83 in expenses. In third place was Rosie Duffield MP for Canterbury who claimed £197,443.11 in expenses.

MPs are not the only elected representatives to get paid allowances and expenses. There are Kent County Council Councillors who claimed £2,030,189 in expenses and allowances in 2019/20. Then there are our district Cllrs in Kent who between them claimed £4.1 million in allowances and expenses in 2019/20, bring the total paid to all our elected representatives in Kent to £8,940,581 in 2019/20.
