Princes Parade Update: Council seeks Leisure Centre Operator for 10 year £23 million contract

On the 23 August, Folkestone & Hythe District Council, let it be known they are seeking to procure the services of a suitable, experienced operator in the leisure management industry to operate the new Princes Parade Leisure Centre in Hythe, Kent, according to the contract register.
The estimated value of the contract is £23 million
The new centre will comprise of the following:
25m x 6-lane competition equipped swim pool
Spectator seating (100 person)
12m x 4 lane teaching pool (visible from the café seating area)
The leisure management contract will commence in Sept 2023 and will be for an initial period of 10 years (with an option at the absolute discretion of the Council to extend the contract period by a period or periods of up to a maximum of 5 additional years).
Finally, the Council Officer responsible for the development of Princes Parade is Tim Madden (pictured), Corporate Director, Organisational Change. He was the former s151 officer for Folkestone & Hythe District Council
