Who Owns The Folkestone Herald?

The Herald is owned by Local World. Their address is PO Box 10177, 50 St George Street, Leicester LE1 8ED. Local World is owned by the Following Companies.

Trinity Mirror paid £14m in 2012 to acquire a 19.98% stake in Local World. Trinity Mirror are Britain’s biggest newspaper group and publishes 260 regional papers, Key Persons Simon Fox CEO & David Grigson Chairman of the Board.

The Daily Mail & General Trust holds 38.73%; which is ultimately owned by Rothermere Continuation Ltd, an offshore Bermudian registered company owned by the 4th Viscount Rothermere. Personal & family net worth 760 million according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2012.

The Baron ILIFFE Family holds a 22.3% stake through the Yattenden Group. The Yattenden Group are a private company owned by the Iliffe family who have interest in printing, agriculture, marinas and property.The Family’s net worth was 266 million according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2012.

Local World is also backed by Crispin Odey’s Odey Asset Management the % is undisclosed. Odey is a hedge fund manager and former son-in-law of Rupert Murdoch and UKIP Supporter/Donor.

The Artefact Group an Investment Fund associated with Lord Michael Ashcroft holds an undisclosed %. He was a former Conservative Donor and Party Treasurer. His personal net worth was 856 million – according to Forbes in 2014.

Local World publish more than 100 print titles and have 82 websites. Trinity Mirror are currently in talks to buy Local World, in full if possible. Talks are ongoing, so the Herald may soon be in new hands.
