SDC’s investigation into Cllrs Inappropriate Expenses Claims will be dealt with behind closed doors.

An Extraordinary Audit and Standards Committee  has been announced for Mon Nov 16 2015 at 7pm. It will be held in the Boulogne Room – Civic Centre Folkestone.

This meeting is being held to release Report AuS/15/17 which will apprise Members [not the public] of the outcome of an Internal Audit investigation into allegations of fraud relating to Councillors’ expenses. The allegations were made in relation to a challenge to the 2014/15 Accounts.

However, as Shepwayvox has said in previous posts, the people of Shepway will be excluded. The exclusion is on the following legal grounds

“To exclude the public for the following item of business on the grounds that it is likely to disclose exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1, of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972:- Paragraph 1: ‘Information relating to any individual.”
