We recently informed you that SDC officers and its elected officials are in private talks with Arena Racing Company (Arc), the company who own Folkestone racecourse. ARC is ultimately owned by the Reuben Brothers and the company is registered offshore in the British Virgin Islands
David and Simon Reuben topped the list of Britain’s wealthiest people (2016) after seeing their net worth rise by £3.4bn ($4.9bn) to £13.1bn. Included in their property portfolio is the Millbank Tower in the heart of Westminster, home to Conservative Party HQ.
We know that it was SDC who approached (Arc) and they did so in late Jan/early Feb 16
The talks, which were initiated by SDC, are at an early stage, what they are discussing is deemed commercially sensitive, but this lack of transparency by SDC is doing nothing for their reputation.
Perhaps Jonathan Freedland piece in the The Guardian best explains things, where he says:
“In this era of post-truth politics, an unhesitating liar can be king. The more brazen his dishonesty, the less he minds being caught with his pants on fire, the more he can prosper. And those pedants still hung up on facts and evidence and all that boring stuff are left for dust, their boots barely laced while the lie has spread halfway around the world.”
Are SDC and our elected officials lying to us? Perhaps, perhaps not, who knows! But there is one thing we know for sure and that is, they are not telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, that’s for sure.
