Princes Parade decision deferred and some pink papers.

The application for planning permission for Princes Parade Promenade, due to be considered by Folkestone & Hythe District Council’s Planning and Licensing Committee on 31 July, will now be deferred until Thursday 16 August.

The Council have received advice – probably legal – that all information should be disclosed as the council is also the applicant – which includes the un-redacted viability cost appraisal.

What seems strange is that the Council have NOT disclosed all the information. In Agenda Item 6 DCL-18-10 pages 17 – 147 it makes quite clear at page 145 of the document  that there are restricted documents (pink papers), and by virtue of Paragraph(s) 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, this information must remain confidential and not for the public eyes or consumption.

However, from sources within the Council itself, the Shepwayvox Team have managed to obtain a copy of the restricted pages which run from 145 – 148.

See: ⇒ restricted pages 145-148 these documents are the options set out for Councillors to consider at the new planning committee on the 16th August 2018.

We hope they prove of use to those members of the Save Princes Parade group who understand these matters.

Finally, Ben Geering, the former Head of Planning at FHDC left the building on 20th July 2018. His new employer will be Quinn Estates.

  1. The first time I ever saw the proposal of this “misadventure” I laid odds That shipway would ride roughshod over all this and ignore ANY protests letters emails and public meetings !!! BECAUSE they – the Council – in my personal opinion, don’t give a toss about joe public because its money in their coffers, its called GREED !!

    • Yes…… The problem is that the electorate at the last SDC election in 2015 saw fit to give the Tories are huge majority in the council chamber which means that there are probably an awful lot of “Daily Scum” readers in our area who probably like all these housing developments and will vote the same in May 2019
