Kent County Council Land Part 2: The most popular site in Britain

In mid Jan we brought you the post Kent County Council Land: The most popular site in Britain in which we informed you that Quinn Estates along with Atlas Partners Group Ltd (APG Ltd), owned by Mr Nicholas Brown, yes he who owns the former White Lion Pub in Cheriton and is firmly offshore in the British Virgin Islands, have both expressed an interest in the land below which is vital to the building of a new Super Hospital and 2,000 new homes.

Land became KCC’s in 1982

We now understand that offers by both interested parties have submitted formal offers for the land marked orange above. Quinn Estates lodged their offer on the 30/11/2017 and APG Ltd lodged theirs on 1/12/2017.

Now we know that a third party was expressing an interest in the land (and possibly a fourth) but they have yet to make a formal offer to Kent County Council. We understand though the third party have approached KCC to discuss the acquisition of the site.

As we understand the site has not yet been marketed, nor is there a defined announcement date, nor is there a formal tender process or bid criteria in place as we understand.

Kent County Council has made it clear, so we understand, to both Quinn Estates and Atlas Partners Group Limited, who have expressed an interest and made offers that KCC does not undertake to accept the highest, nor indeed any offers, and reserves the right to require selected bidders to submit further
bids by a date to be specified, if deemed appropriate.
