Otterpool Park to come before planning by end of February

Cllr David Monk (pictured) at this evening’s full council – 20th Feb 2019 – announced that an outline planning application for 8,500 homes to be constructed at Otterpool Park will be laid before the planning department before the end of this month.

Cllr Monk says below: “I am promised that the outline planning permission will be applied for before the end of this month. Formal consultation will start about mid-March.” The plans for the 8,500 home development will be submitted to the planning department like any other application and will be subject to the usual validation period. Once this has happened documents will then be available for the public to view on the Council’s planning website and to allow further opportunities for feedback.

We will of course inform you as soon as the information is released into the public domain.

The news of the purchase of the land was released by the Shepwayvox Team three years ago in Jan 2016. Three years on we are now at outline planning stage. We have followed this story from the beginning bringing you many of the developments which have happened along the way. The Reuben Brothers and there offshore company Cozumel Estates Ltd, registered in the British Virgin Island must finally be rleieved that the 3 year process begins the end game. They were unavailable for comment at the time of posting this blog.

Finally Cllr Monk made clear at the earlier Cabinet meeting held at 5pm, that he had written to the editor of the Kentish Express – Robert Barman – to point out the inaccuracies in the story regarding Princes Parade costing £29 million. That story is incorrect and not accurate, but as we have said before regarding this newspaper- Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story
