Cllr David Monk (pictured) at this evening’s full council – 20th Feb 2019 – announced that an outline planning application for 8,500 homes to be constructed at Otterpool Park will be laid before the planning department before the end of this month.
Cllr Monk says below: “I am promised that the outline planning permission will be applied for before the end of this month. Formal consultation will start about mid-March.” The plans for the 8,500 home development will be submitted to the planning department like any other application and will be subject to the usual validation period. Once this has happened documents will then be available for the public to view on the Council’s planning website and to allow further opportunities for feedback.
We will of course inform you as soon as the information is released into the public domain.
Finally Cllr Monk made clear at the earlier Cabinet meeting held at 5pm, that he had written to the editor of the Kentish Express – Robert Barman – to point out the inaccuracies in the story regarding Princes Parade costing £29 million. That story is incorrect and not accurate, but as we have said before regarding this newspaper-Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story
