The Closet Tory – Cllr Ray Field (Ind) elected with 359 votes for the Harbour Ward in May 2019, has in the past been a vociferous voice in calling on Cllrs who have left their party either voluntarily or by political pressure to stand for re-election.
Almost a year ago to the day Cllr Ray Field posted the following message on Facebook. So we ask if Cllr Field will step down and have a by-election? Is the man principled or not?
So will Cllr Field step down from his Harbour Ward seat and create a by-election? We personally believe not as he is a hypocrite. Plus there are £10,866 reasons to cling onto now he’s a member of the Cabinet.
Cllr Field physically attacked our public face in May 2019, in front of many witnesses – one of them was Cllr Jacqui Meade (Lab) and she did nothing to help. She did NOT report Field to the Local Labour Party.
A formal complaint was lodged with Folkestone & Hythe District Council against Cllr Field’s violent behaviour towards our public face. A valid crime reference number was supplied, as was the date, the location and the time, plus a list of persons present, who were and still are willing to talk to the Council’s monitoring officer Amandeep Khroud (pictured). However, she has chosen not to respond to a valid complaint. It is now with the Local Government Ombudsman
Then again at the Woodward Hall in Oct 2019, Cllr Field attacked our public face in front of twenty-five witnesses; and none of the six Labour Cllrs present did anything. He remained in the party.
This is the local Labour Party who profess to have suspended Cllr Field – because he voted with the Tories on Princes Parade – Yet took no action was taken against Cllr Field when he physically and verbally assaulted an innocent member of the public in front of so many witnesses.
Cllr Field is we honestly believe a closet Tory. We honestly believe he is a violent, uncontrollable thug who some believe is as anti-semitic as senior members of the Third Reich, given the way he personally treated former Cllr Claire Jeffrey when she crossed the floor to the Conservatives in Sept 2016.
Cllr Field says he was asked to join the Cabinet for his “negotiation skills“, amongst other things. There are people in Medway who remember Cllr Field’s “negotiation skills” all too vividly.
Cllr Field’s hypocrisy and thuggery demonstrates he is the right man to join the Tory led Cabinet.
Let’s not forget the Council have buried a legitimate complaint, the local Labour Party have done nothing about Cllr Field’s violent and aggressive behaviour. Both should account for their actions, but we doubt they’ll be little of that.
