RIP Aimee O’Rourke

We did not know Aimee O’Rourke, nor do we suspect did many of you.

Aimee was a 39-year-old nurse who worked at the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, part of the East Kent Hospital University Trust, who tragically died on April 2 after contracting Covid-19.

Aimee joined the Acute Medical Unit at the QEQM as a newly qualified nurse in 2017 and ward manager Julie Gammon said the whole team was devastated by her death from Covid-19.

Yesterday EKHUFT staff at the QEQM lined the front entrance and clapped their appreciation on her funeral procession

Our condolences go out to her family and friends. She leaves behind three beautiful daughters, Megan, Mollie and Maddie.

We thank her for all her efforts to help those less fortunate. She was an asset to the NHS, one tragically lost to covid-19.
