In his time at KCC, Cllr M Whybrow has helped shape the debate about KCC’s environmental responsibilities and the investments of the KCC Pension Fund.
We as a team, have not always agreed with him, but he has stuck to his guns and promoted the green agenda making it a central plank of KCCs thinking, for that he is to be applauded.
Martin has lived in Hythe for 25+ years and, among other things, has been a long-standing volunteer at Hythe Town Football Club, and ardent supporter. He founded Transition Hythe (now Hythe Environmental Community Group). He was a trustee of the Folkestone District branch of the RSPCA, He sat on the committee of the community sponsorship scheme which brought a Syrian refugee family to the area, and has been a governor at Palmarsh Primary School.
In his spare time he has stepped up to the crease to represent Hythe Green Cricket Club. He’s a keen birdwatcher, plays badminton and enjoys Tai Chi and meditation.
We thank him for his selfless public service, and wish him well in his future endeavours.
