The people of Kent are wonderful, especially those who continue to take Ukrainian refugees.
Data from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and Home Office, as of the 28 April shows Kent leading the way in taking Ukrainian refugees.
This has been the case since the departments have been issuing the data from April 6, 2022.
Hence why we say the people of Kent are amazing.
Of course, there are hoops to jump through to be able to house Ukrainian refugees, and the information if you are considering taking a Ukrainian refugee family can be found on Kent County Council’s website – here
We understand that not everyone is in the position to host a family. But whatever, one can do we’d ask you to do it, whether it be a raffle, a donation, making fudge, or playing a few songs outside The Chambers (Folkestone) to raise cash for those in the Ukraine – “every little helps.”
Now of course, the Ukrainian refugees end up being hosted in one of the twelve districts in Kent. As the chart below shows, all districts in Kent are playing there part helping those who’ve lost their homes due to the war in the Ukraine. And for each of these hosts, in each of the districts, we truly do say thank you for what you are doing. It matters as does your kindness. So, thank you.
We, The Shepway Vox Team, are proud to live to in the Garden of England. We are proud and grateful to each of the hosts taking refugees from the Ukraine. But it doesn’t stop there. We’re proud of all the people helping any refugee, as all organisations in Kent do an amazing job in helping these displaced people.
It just goes to show that love and compassion will always overcome those who are hostile to others coming to this sceptered isle, this earth of majesty.
The Shepway Vox Team
Love & Compassion will ALWAYS win the day.
