Joanna Strickland (pictured) a twice nominated Kent Business woman in 2016 & 2018 has left a trail of debt and trouble behind her and fled Folkestone to live life in London on her boat Nyanga moored at St Katherine’s Dock.
Ms Strickland is an accountant and runsStrickland Accountancy Limitedwhich is addressed at Aspen House, above Aspendos Folkestone. It is know that over the years there she has dealt with and undertaken the books and tax returns of both self employed and local companies across the town and district. According to companies house, Ms Strickland has been a director or secretary of 103 companies, some are very much active and some have been dissolved. According to paperwork seen by the Shepwayvox Team members, Ms Strickland has a lot of substantial outstanding debt issues and has been robbing Peter to pay Paul. However, it would appear that the outstanding debts have begun to catch up with her.
Sources who have spoken to the various members of the Shepwayvox Team, tell us that bailiff demands have been arriving at the office of Strickland accountancy above Aspendos and have gone unanswered. This has been followed by bailiffs turning up in person, but never to find Ms Strickland anywhere to be found. It is alleged that a substantial amount is owed to Champion & Bushell. It has also been brought to our attention that the Lean Kitchen at No 7 Guildhall Street has had a notice slapped on the door byWorthington Solicitorson the 08/05/19 for the removal of all chattels from the property; which Ms Strickland rented via Strickland Accountancy Limited. Again it is alleged she also owes a substantial amount of money to the owners
It is know that in 2018 Ms Strickland purchased a boat by the name of Nyanga (pictured below); which is moored at St Katherine’s Dock, London (near Tower Bridge). Mooring fees in excess of £9,000 were paid in June 2018 for the period 1st April 2018 to the 31st March 2019. It would appear from sources who live close by, Ms Strickland appears to now be living on the boat. She has not been seen in Folkestone recently. So for those of you who are owed money this is an asset she owns.
Clients of her accountancy company have had to pay fines to HMRC due to their annual returns being sent very late. Yet some clients still remain faithful, perhaps that is because they are unaware of the debt and the bailiffs.Mrs Sarah Collinswife of our MP has a company, Noble Purpose Ltd, a company we have written about previously, remains loyal to Ms Strickland as she continues to be the company Secretary. This is the company Damian Collins MP attempted to make a claim for £6,000. The details of the claim say they were for ‘fees for Noble Purpose’. The amount was not paid as it was not under the scheme, ie, not eligible.
We have seen a trail of email evidence for the period April to May 2018, between Ms Strickland and young foreign gentlemen of different nationalities. In these email exchanges it repeatedly alleges that Ms Strickland is a “people smuggler” and “human trafficker“. Nowhere in any of the exchanges does Ms Strickland deny these allegations levelled at her over a reasonably sustained period. Of course, it would have been rude NOT to inform the appropriate authorities, given the circumstances.
Our public face has attempted several times to contact Ms Strickland for a comment before going to live with the story. A response there has come none form Ms Strickland. If she has anything to say she can contact us at shepwayvox[at]riseup[dot]net.
