A Little Bit More Good News

There is more good news regarding Covid-19 deaths and recoveries at the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT), which serves the districts of Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone & Hythe and Thanet.

According to the the latest data published by EKHUFT regarding covid-19 outcomes, between 23rd March 2020 (Week 13) and June 14th 2020 (Week 24), the number of patients who had passed away from covid-19 at one of the three East Kent Hospitals, was 323. However, the number of people who recovered was 701.

This means for that period nearly seven out of every ten patients (68.5%) with Covid-19 survived.

For that we applaud all the staff of EKHUFT for their efforts. Thank you.

The one comfort we can all take from the persons passing is that each of them would have received the most powerful drug in the world – kindness. It work’s for everyone, it’s hard to get the dose wrong, and it’s free at the point of delivery. Thanks to all those who delivered this throughout the crisis.

  1. No consolation for those of us who have lost relatives after they contracted Covid in EKHUFT hospitals, thanks to their famously poor infection control regimes.

  2. My love and my heart goes out to the two nurses who passed away due to covid-19, while working at an EKHUFT Hospital.

Intensive Care Nurse, Adekunle Enitan, at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford

Aimee O’Rourke, a nurse who worked on the Acute Medical Unit at Queen
Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate

In the course of their duties they gave their lives to save others.

    My condolences to their families

  3. Irrespective of their infection care regimes I would applaud the efforts of the NHS in coping with this virus. .But how can we persuade the populous that this threat is serious and guidellnes apply to them and should be followed.

I do not relish a queue outside Tesco in pouring rain in January.. Give a little time to consider this whilst at the Pub.
