If your application is acceptable, the registrar will write to the company in question informing it and the directors of the receipt of the application and inviting them to provide:
• Evidence sufficient to satisfy him that you consented to act, or have otherwise knowingly acted as, a director of the company, and
• A statement by the company that the evidence provided by it is true and not misleading or deceptive in any material particular
The Registrar’s rules & powers also makes it clear Cllr Monk’s and his wife’s company, must make a statement of truth.
Where a document is to be verified by a company, the statement of truth must be signed by a senior corporate officer who is sufficiently acquainted with the matters set out in the document to positively advance an honest belief.
The signatory should also be authorised by the organisation to sign the document on its behalf.
Examples of senior positions are: director, treasurer, secretary, chief executive, manager or in-house counsel.
A witness statement should be signed by the person making the statement.
Under the Companies Act 2006, knowingly or recklessly delivering information or making a statement to the Registrar of Companies that is misleading, false or deceptive is a criminal offence under s.1112 of the Act and can lead to imprisonment and/or a fine.
The evidence provided by the company in which Cllr David Monk sits with his wife as a director, to Companies House, is untrue, misleading and deceptive with regards to his occupation in this material particular. He is not, nor is his wife, on Health Care Profession Council register, where Occupational Therapists MUST be registered. The GOV.UK website for registration states:
You could be fined up to £5,000 if you call yourself an occupational therapist and you’re not registered with the HCPC.
“We bought Otterpool Manor Farm before Christmas (2015) as a strategic purchase. We had no plans for the site other than a tenanted farming operation to earn some income,”
Carrying on with Otterpool, Cllr Monk in a responses to Cllr Jackie Meade [Lab] informed the chamber and there world, that up to 31/10/21 the council had spent £51.3m [Net] – £53.2m [Gross], add in the £12m set side then we are in the realms of £65 – £66 million spent, without a sod of land being turned.
Cllr Monk, also stated that The Council total profit for Otterpool (a conservative figure) was £193m.
Now given Cllr Monk’s historical record for telling untruths, is he to be believed?
Given all the questions Cllr Monk was asked by the public and Cllrs, last night, should we trust any of his utterances, about Otterpool, Princes Parade and any other developments which the Council wish to build, given he – as an Occupational Therapist [Not] cannot even tell the truth to Companies House?
David Monk should have taken legal advice first before describing himself as an “Occupational Therapist” if he is not actually qualified or registered to act as one.
In particular, he should be aware of the legal consequences of stating to a prospective customer that he is professionally qualified and registered when it appears that he is not. It is known as fraudulent misrepresentation (see links below).
This is the councillor who I turned to when in dispute with my landlord. A few weeks later, my landlord tried to sue me for defamation quoting my very words as used to Monk. A complete violation of his obligations as to confidentiality. A complaint to the monitoring officer fell on deaf ears. Amandeaf????
Never believe a word this pathetic little man says. Mind you he’s got that wimp Wimble batting for him now , came in as an Independent and fell straight into the arms of the desperate to stay in charge Monk .
I always like when they name him as David Monk (CON) A real CON merchant

On the other hand, perhaps he does not care.
Can I trust this man?
Definitely not.

The way to save Princes Parade is to get rid of Monk next May 2023.
He’s a bad’un but I fear you are confusing occupational therapy with occupational health, two quite different fields.
No confusion, he states he’s and occupational therapist. Quite clear on Companies House.
Sorry, my mistake, he’s worse than I thought!
