Development House Ltd: 2 subcontractors take their own lives due to sums owed to them.
The consequences of one’s actions can never be truly known. They ripple out into the universe and affect people in many different ways.

It is with great sadness we have to announce that two subcontractors who worked for and were owed sizable chunks of money, by Development House Limited, a company owned by David Pownceby (pictured) have unfortunately taken their own lives, due to the debts owed and the fact each of them had over the last few weeks become homeless.
As we know Quantuma Advisory have become the administrators to close down Development House Ltd, as of yet they have not been appointed by the High Court. This said this process can take a number of weeks.
Now here is a question. Do you believe in coincidences? We ask this because when a former company owned by David Pownceby Lilybrook Development Ltd, went into administration, the company appointed was RSM Tenon Recovery. The two administrators appointed were Alexander Kinninmonth and Duncan Robert Beat.

Now it just so happens that Quantuma Advisory, who are the administrators for Development House, now employ Duncan Robert Beat. Now we are not saying anything nefarious or underhand is going on, we make that very very clear. What we are saying is, this is a coincidence. From a statistical perspective, coincidences are inevitable and often less remarkable than they may appear intuitively. To give a simple example: Apples do not fall far from the tree.
In the meantime our condolences go out to those who knew the two subcontractors who took their own lives. This is what non payment by contractors can lead to, as they are never fully aware of the consequences of their actions.

Dissent is NOT a Crime

Very sad. Tp be pedantic, it is coincidence that apples don’t fall far from the tree, it is the laws of physics
It’s sad to hear that anyone has taken their own life especially when you find someone who has been either partly or in the whole responseable for the situation that a person has fallen into, it is unfair that those people are not brought to justice for the suicide but only bankruptcy, I have no connection with any those companies or this e-paper, I say that we need to bring in justice for the families how do you bring a person back to life and in to the bossom of their families it’s impossible. To shepwayvox a beautiful appropriate piece of music mea culpa (through my fault), those two words say it all.
So am I correct in saying that Pownceby can appoint his own administrators ?
How can this be possible that as it would appear he has got his ‘mate’ yet again to sort the finances out obviously in the favour of only one person .
I am truly saddened by your reporting that two subcontractors have taken their lives as a result of Pownceby .
What a piece of scum he is .
Also check out Kirby Homes (Sunningdale) Ltd, same storey and same administrator
That’s Kirkby Homes
It would seem that David Pownceby has a case to answer regarding the suicides of two of his contractors. Should anyone have the time or inclination to persue legal action against this piece of shit, I would gladly contribute to their fighting fund.
We would contribute too.
Development House had been working on new build houses in Monkton and i wonder if they will be finished. The trades rightly wont go back until they get their money so it will be interesting to see if the parent company Suningdale house put some money in. They have been awful payers since work started in 2021 and have various winding up petitions & legal action taken against them in this period. The site has at times been a ghost town due to trades refusing to return. Yet the auditors pass their accounts as a solvent business when clearly they have been struggling for a number of years. There are plenty of new homeowners on that site with defects that need resolving, i feel for them as nothing will get resolved quickly.
Pownceby is the owner of Sunningdale & Development House. According to the government website he has 68 company appointments, 17 current, the remaining 51 have either had compulsory strike off, voluntary strike off, gone insolvent or he has resigned,
Seems like a bit of a gap in the law here when you can start companies, trade, then fold them owing thousands without too much personal consequence.
Re Quantuma Advisory the proposed Liquidations, they have just written to us as we are a creditor asking for information and confirming they have already been paid their firms £20k + vat fixed fee, that’s all very cozy.
